In the summer, the wind of has formidable tooth with which to push and pull against - something that slows it down and feels much like carding wool.

I was watching a stop sign twisting back and forth in the wind this morning and pretty much that was about the only resistance I felt - all of it made more brittle by rattling boney branches. It made my heart race but it wasn't anxiety.
