The Same Release

All of life, the mix of tears and laughter
given to us, so that we know each
in the contrast of opposition
of that which puts us together

Someone asked me if it was difficult to be in the company of a person who is dying. Of course, it isn't easy to put their family in a room with low lighting, a couch, and a few boxes of tissues and simply tell them that the doctor will speak to them soon. But it isn't so bad when they thank you for taking time to recognize their pain. Such things change a person immeasurably and forever.
