She talks of the textures in coal refuse piles, how a winter tree can be feathery or how important it is to come out in the middle of the night searching for milkweed because of the Monarchs.

But the best part is how the brown hay in the fields is gathered into round bales because it is shredded wheat and when it snows on them it is one of the loneliest things imaginable -- but it is still okay because they are healthy, sweet and frosted.

That's pretty smart.
