Stained Hands

You took us out to pick black walnuts on Polinski's farm in rural Belmont County. After drying them in the basement, we removed the husks on newspaper. I recall it smelled like pine and monstrously stained our hands. We cracked them in the gray vice on your workbench.

At the time, it didn't seem like much, but now it is large part of me. Of course, it makes me miss you more than ever but it always makes me realize the immense good in you.
