Asymmetic Rambling

In many of his art classes, my father offered a drawing exercise that was intended as a demonstration of how human facial features are imbalanced from left to right. He had his students select faces from magazine photographs, cut them in half and then draw in the missing features. It was interesting to see how different each person looked if they simply copied one side to the other.

For the past several days, I have been accidentally biting the inside of my lower lip. I'm sure most people have done this sort of thing and the tough part with this, is that after that first time the particular area is injured and raised, it then becomes even easier to inadvertently chomp down on it. So last night I noticed that my left lower lip is now more swollen than my right, but thank goodness for the beauty and blessing found in asymmetry.

This afternoon is our Christmas party at work, and generally nothing work-related gets done today. This will be my 31st Christmas party here.

Last week was the hospital ER Christmas party. This video was presented during the celebration and was created by one of our doctors and several staff members.
